Life is full of beginnings (sunrises) and endings (sunsets). While many people may view a sunset as a sad ending to an old, familiar day, I see it as an opportunity to start anew. After all, if the sun never set, there would be no reason for a sunrise!

Inspirational Sunsets Creative Writings was “born” in response to one of these sunsets in my own life when I lost my Mom/Best Friend and Uncle Bill within five months of each other back in 1993 and 1994. One of the positive ways that God gave me to deal with my grief was through the gift of creative writing and poetry that He bestowed upon my life. Indeed, I could think of no greater way to honor the legacy of love and faith that Mom and Uncle Bill shared with me than by sharing my writings with others. 

Since then, I also lost Dad in 2009. Once again, Inspirational Sunsets has given me a creative outlet to share the lessons that Mom, Dad, and Uncle Bill shared with me during their lifetimes. I was so blessed to have had them in my life, and it is a pleasure to be able to honor their memories in my own special way!

So what is “Inspirational Sunsets?” It is designed to help all of us honor those who mean so much to us. While I enjoy writing poems and other creative writings for any occasion, there are certain subjects that are near and dear to my heart. Some of my favorite writings center around the area of grieving the loss of a special loved one or pet and honoring the memory of a loved one who has passed away. I also enjoy honoring our nation’s veterans, breast cancer patients/survivors, friends, and family. Thus, I have poems available that do just that.

Perhaps my favorite poems are the personalized ones that I have written for others so that they, too, can say, “You are special to me and this is why…!” While it is nice to say something good about someone you love at their funeral, it is even better to be able to say it to them when they can appreciate your heartfelt sentiment! Therefore, Inspirational Sunsets is dedicated to helping you honor your loved one through personalized poems that come straight from your heart.
